Gay Marriage, Democracy, and the Courts

This is an argument from the Wall Street Journal that I found quite interesting. (Click on the title to go to the article.) It is grounded in something other than the typical religious point of view. I would be interested to know what others think.

  1. Civil marriage should be between any two people in a legal contract. One may also then be married by a religious organization under whatever requirements it may impose.

  4. We cannot discount that this country was founded for religious purposes. Religion IS the basis for this country's existence. If we separate the power of Almighty God from our "civil" endeavors, we are undermining the sacrifice of those who journeyed, fought, and died for this country. Give US your poor, tired, and hungry. They have a chance at religious and personal freedom. Homosexuality has NO place in a country founded on true gospel religeon.
